I think I've ruined my daughter

We love to play dress up around here. Anything and everything priness or ballerina related will do. Here's where I screwed up:

Every time Ava gets dressed up I will say something like "Oh! You look so beautiful!" or "Wow, I can't believe how pretty you look!" I thought I was doing my duty as a mother by being overly dramatic with my compliments. But now if I try to tell Ava she looks beautiful she'll tell me "no! not yet!" and go put on her "princess" clothes! Ooops.

Now I've had to try and undo what I did by telling her constantly "you always look pretty". I hope I haven't ruined her.

She also likes to have her picture taken a lot. She will actually ask me to get the camera and take a picture. This is one of them.

What makes it worth it.......

Sometimes it takes a lot of effort to get them to play nice together. But when they do it makes it all worth it.

At least it happened before bath time....

Redneck Skiing

Ice Fishing

I forgot I had these pictures to post until just now, otherwise I could have posted them sooner....I know my blog has been boring lately. Chris took Ava ice fishing a couple of weeks ago and here are a few pictures. Although she appears to be having fun the fun only lasted about 10 minutes. Then she got cold, bored, and wanted to go home.

They never did catch anything but 10 minutes isn't really enough time for fishing. Oh well. We'll try again when she's a little older maybe.

I haven't taken any pictures lately and other than the fact that we have no water, again, I don't really have anything new to share. So here is another quote from Ava.

Ava: "Grammy, guess what?"

Grammy: "What?"

Ava: "Momma has a baby in her tummy."

Grammy: "WHAT!?!"

Luckily Chris was there and was able to inform grammy that she was referring to the momma cow in our corral. Not me.

True Love

Conversation between Chris and Ava last night (if you can call it that; Ava was having a major melt down!)

Chris: "Calm Down. It's okay"
Ava: "Stop saying that! It's not okay!"

Later while trying to say goodnight (still having before mentioned melt down)....

Chris: "I love you. (pause while waiting for reply). Do you love me?"
Ava: "I can't tell right now."

Kids are so funny. At least she didn't say "no".

We dreamed of a white Christmas....

But it didn't. We were completely snowless on Christmas day. Not a flake to be seen. So we had to wait until the snow came before Ava could really enjoy her Christmas present from Uncle Joey:

A NEW SLED!

It's actually not just her Christmas present. It's for all the ranch kids. Isn't it adorable? He made it himself.

We finally have enough snow that dad was able to take Ava and mom for a ride.

And how does it work you might ask? The only way we do things around here of course! With a 4 wheeler! (Kind of redneck huh?)
