So far it's been a busy summer. And it's only the middle of June!! But we've been having tons of fun. We've been spending time at the pool, the park, with family, with friends, and as much time outside as possible. Here are a few highlights from the last couple of weeks.
It started with our friends the Roberts coming to visit us for a long weekend with their two little boys. Below is a picture of Ava and Carter sitting around the campfire getting ready to roast marshmallows.
Here is Jake (the dad) leading the horse around with Carter on the back and Sadie in front.
Ava and Carter also rode the horse together. I think their younger boy rode too but I don't have any pictures of Jason. He's a cutie though!
After the Roberts left Chris's sister Lorie and her family came to visit for a week. We took the kids to the pool one day and Ava was so happy to have friends to play with her in the pool. (Left to right is Bennet, Kate, and Ava).
It's been so nice this year going to the pool because both of my girls are old enough to wear floaties and play in the shallow end of the big pool. We've have loads of fun.
I love that my girls aren't afraid to get dirty. Chris told a friend that Ava was "girly" and that I "corrupted" her but the truth is she came that way all on her own. And yet she's not afraid to get dirty which makes her a whole lot of fun. Here are the girls playing in the creek below grammy's "condo". (I so wish I had a picture of the condo to show you. You'd laugh that we call it the condo.)
Ava happily enjoying the mud she is digging up in the creek.
I'm not sure what Sadie is doing here. Playing the water or looking for something. Possible going #2.
Both girls were soaked and covered in mud by the time we were done but they had a blast. And mom remembered to bring PJ's to put them in after knowing that this would happen.
Sadie never smiles for the camera. I don't know why. And I don't know how to make her. But it's a cute picture anyway.
We hope you are having a fun summer too!

Sadie looks so grown up in that last picture, and tan too! And my kids sure wish they could come ride horses at your house this summer.
We were just telling Ry and Liz about how cute Sadie was when she says "hi" and how fun it is to hear her talk. Truly a fun, fun week!!!! Thanks for all you did to make it so awesome. I will miss you.... :(
Thanks for the awesome time. I quite frequently tell Jake we just need to get away back to the ranch. It was so fun and relaxing. Thanks for putting up with us! I'll try to get you those pictures this week. :)
