Baby Grace - Newborn Pictures

I know most of you have already seen these on facebook so this is for my dad.

Grace Margaret Shideler

6:00am.

 Waiting for surgery.

8:15am.

 Grace Margaret is born. She is pictured above with our friend Kelly McQueen who got to be one of my nurses.

6lbs 14oz. 

10:00am

 Out of recovery and back in our room.

 Ava loves her new sister. (But not ready to hold her until day 2).

38 week belly

"Inkalee"

Ava was in the bath today for 2+ hours. We changed water three times. She ended up very "inkalee" (wrinkly).

Sadie Pictures

Sadie's photo shoot was not nearly as successful as Ava's. Of course it was also a spur of the moment Sadie asked me to take her picture type of thing. However asking me to take her picture didn't make her more willing to do what I asked. These are the only two pictures I got worthy of posting.

Ava's 4 year photo shoot

The whole point of trying to convince Chris (for the past two years) to let me buy a fancy new camera was so that I would be able to take my own pictures of our kids and not have to pay someone else to do it. (It just so happens that I love my photographer....don't get me wrong).  The problem is that not only do you have to learn how to use your camera, but then you also have to learn how to make your pictures look professional....(I'll settle for good).  It's hard to practice without a photo subject AND when you are limited to the indoors but I managed to force convince Ava to help me out today and here are some of the photos we got. (I'm sure some of Sadie will be soon to follow). I'm calling them her 4 year old pictures since we haven't done that yet.

After this point Ava was way past being done (I'd probably taken 100 pictures) and decided to ripe off the scarf and do it her own way. Below are some of the pictures that followed.

Valentine's Day Cards

There are no pictures of the girls here because I was so busy trying to make these things that it slipped my mind. What was supposed to be a quick, fun, easy project that I could do with Ava turned into several hours and me doing most of the work by myself. Ava's attention span doesn't last that long. She did however do some of the work and I think she had fun. So even though there aren't pictures of the girls here are our Valentine's Day cards.

And because I'm a control freak/perfectionist and wanted the butterfly cards to be perfect....the above picture shows the cards that I gave them free reign on. I cut out hearts, gave them stickers and glue and let them go crazy.  We'll be handing out both. :)

Hay Day

I'm having so much fun with my new camera I can't help but take pictures whenever I have the chance. I'm happy to have such a willing and adorable subject.

I love the top center picture the best....our cat looks like she's going in for the kill.
