Our first snow of the year came Tuesday night. It kept coming all day Wednesday, Thursday, and now here it is Friday and it's still coming.
Ava loves the snow so much I don't think I could ever move her away from it. She loves playing in it, sledding in it, and of course she loves eating it....hence the really red cheeks and lips!
And just so she isn't left out here is a picture of my sweet baby who has just recently discovered her thumb.
We finally, for the first time EVER, had family pictures taken. My friend Stephanie did them for us here at our house. It was so nice to have her come to us and way easier on the girls. Although Ava was in a bad mood anyway and so we ended up having to cut the photo shoot a little short. I still think we got some cute ones though. My only complaint is I look at the pictures and think "is that really me?" I can't believe I'm already this old and have two kids! I love them though and I am so happy with this stage in life. I wouldn't go back to High School for a million dollars!!
My sister has just started a very cool new business. She makes jewelry out of vintage jewelry by taking it apart and putting it back together again in a new modern way. I love it and I think you will too. She sells her stuff on etsy.com but also has a blog you can check out. Here are the links:
It's SO nice having a friend (or sister) who does hair out of their home! I don't have to worry about a babysitter and let's face it, it's cheaper. Yesterday I was at my friend Ashley's house getting my hair done and while we were waiting for the color to set she did Ava and my toes. It's called "glitter toes". The cool thing is they are kind of like acrylics so they last a really long time. Aren't they cute!? Apparently they are all the rage in Utah right now.
I've been needing to get the girls' pictures taken so bad but the idea of going to a studio is just so intimidating. I took Ava a few times and doing her alone was hard enough. Two seemed like an insurmountable task. So I finally asked my friend Steph to take them. It's a hobby of hers and she loves to do it so she was happy to oblige. And I think they turned out SO cute. Both girls were so good through it all and Ava even surprised us with a few poses. I can't wait to get them printed off and on my walls. Thanks again Steph. I love them!
(email me or leave me a comment with your address and I will get it sent to you)
Thanks for participating. I enjoyed all the stories. I read them all to Chris and he picked the winner. It seems that losing wedding rings is more common than I thought. I lost Chris's wedding ring just before we got married and never found it.
As many of you may have noticed my blog has been a little slow lately. I'm not sure if it's because there isn't anything going on with us lately, or if there is stuff but I just don't think it's interesting enough to blog about.
I want to make it fun and exciting again. So here on the Shideler blog I will be doing my first ever giveaway!!
As many of you may remember from my post back in March, I recently lost a very beautiful bracelet that was given to me by Chris. Sadly, this is not the only thing I've lost that he has given to me. I also lost a cute little bracelet he got me in Mexico, and more recently I lost (actually Ava lost) a watch he had given me for Christmas. (All of which Chris likes to continually remind me of :) ).
SO.....
The giveaway is this: A beaded watch band (watch face included of course). If you haven't seen one yet go HERE.
All you have to do is leave a comment telling me about a "time" when you lost something. It could have been something important or meaningless, something you later found, or never found. It doesn't matter. Just leave a comment by Saturday at Midnight and I will randomly select the winner on Sunday!
** UPDATE: a few people have told me that they've had trouble leaving comments on my blog lately, so if you want to enter but can't seem to leave a comment go the my craft blog and leave a comment there.
